Brent Jackson – Founder and President
As President of Oaxaca, Jackson brings over 16 years of experience in Development, Leasing and Project Management to his work. He serves as the sole General Partner to the several Funds he has raised and invests that capital on behalf of his Limited Partners. Each Fund focuses on creating value in real estate by building and/or rebuilding projects in and around urban cores that:
- Produce strong financial yields
- Demonstrate progressive and efficient design
- Lift up the social needs of surrounding communities
One of Oaxaca’s current projects consists of a Lake | Flato designed 201-unit apartment, mixed-use project at the intersection of Sylvan and Interstate 30 in Dallas, TX. The project, named SYLVAN | THIRTY, is anchored by an organic/health focused grocery store and contains retail, services and restaurants. The project’s DNA is referred to as the SYLVAN | THIRTY Sandwich: Top Bun – Authentic Diversity; Ingredients – Multimodal, Sustainable, Local/Organic Food, Community Impact, Simple Meets Sophisticated; Bottom Bun – God.
Prior to forming Oaxaca in 2007, Jackson worked at P.O’B. Montgomery & Co. with roles in Acquisition and Development. He focused on markets covering the Western United States, where he underwrote acquisitions and played a key role in the development of a 250,000sf power center, a 60,000sf build to suit, along with other projects. Additionally, he served as asset manager for 73 Albertson’s in Texas and New Mexico, where he helped determine whether to keep, break up and lease, renegotiate the underlying terms or simply dispose of the asset.
Before joining P.O’B., Jackson was Vice President at Swearingen Realty Group, LLC in Dallas TX. While at Swearingen, he negotiated land acquisitions and complex long-term leases, completed build-to-suits and developed relationships with a wide spectrum of tenants (national, regional and local).
As a Dallas native, Jackson graduated from the St. Mark’s School of Texas and went on to earn both his Bachelor of Fine Arts and Masters of Business Administration degrees from the University of Texas at Austin. He currently resides in Oak Cliff where he has served on the Boards of both the Oak Cliff Chamber of Commerce and the West Dallas Chamber of Commerce. Jackson is a marathoner, recently running the Boston Marathon, volunteers for the Dallas Boys and Girls Club, and is a mentor for students in both the Oak Cliff and West Dallas area. He and his wife, Adrienne, are members of and serve All Saints Dallas – a plant church near Downtown Dallas.
